You slipped away peacefully, As I caressed your face, Visualising you arriving at that beautiful place , Your last days you showed me so much courage, humour and love, Never a ‘why me?’ and ready to go to our Father up above. If I could write a story, It would be the best ever told, Of a kind and loving father, Who had a heart of gold.
