The Normandy Veterans deeply regret the passing of their comrade of the Normandy Landing campaign. They wish to extend their condolences to his wife Betty, son Mark, daughters-in-law Christine and Jayne and grandchildren Danielle and Gabriella. Our most beautiful darling, caring and loving brother, we will miss you until the end of time. You’ve always been there for us, no more looking forward to your Liverpool visits, cooking you breakfast, buying you lots of surprise presents and being told off for buying them. RIP.

Kind, generous and warm hearted, Ritchie’s infectious smile and quick-witted humour brightened the lives of all who knew him. Frank, down to earth and resourceful, his irrepressible spirit was an inspiration. Loyal, devoted and dependable, his vibrant love of life will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him and all those who had the pleasure and privilege to call him their friend.
