Passed away peacefully after a long journey with Alzheimer’s on Thursday, 7 March, 2024, aged 80 years. He will be greatly missed.

SAUNDERS, Walter Gerard

Died on Friday, 1 March, 2024, aged 93 years, in George, South Africa, his own beloved country. Father of Janine, Bronwyn and Robert, grandfather, great-grandfather and, since 1998, husband of Vivien Vibert. Energetic and flamboyant, Walter was a seeker of truth and justice, a publisher of black poets at the height of apartheid, poet, painter, brilliant teacher, Shakespeare scholar and a lifelong Baconian.

His funeral will be in South Africa.

HENNEQUIN, Arthur Norman

Passed away on Monday, 4 March, 2024, aged 74 years, surrounded by his family.

Passed away peacefully with her three daughters by her side on Tuesday, 27 February, 2024. Reunited with her beloved husband Aidan. Deeply loved and forever missed by Anne-Marie, Nadia, Heidi and their families.

GRUCHY, Pam

Sadly passed away on Friday, 23 February, 2024, loving mother of Elizabeth, aunty to Jane, Momma to Hazel and Rory, and great-grandmother to little Willow. She was a truly amazing woman, and she will be deeply missed by family and friends near and far.

It was Pam’s wish to have a private cremation.

The family will be organising an afternoon tea to celebrate her life later in the year.

FOOTT, Marion Evelyn

Passed away on Tuesday, 5 March, 2024, at Jersey Hospice Care, aged 87 years, much-loved sister of Sally and brother-in-law of the late Brian, eldest child of the late Cyril and Evelyn Foott and sister of the late Mick and Barbara.

No more suffering, free from pain and at peace now.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

ELLIS, Peter Ronald

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Peter, in the wonderful care of Jersey Hospice on Friday, 1 March, 2024, at the age of 74, with his family by his side. Peter was the dearly loved son of Raymond and the late Mavis, brother to Caroline and brother-in-law to Stan, adored husband of Liliane, very much devoted and loved father of Nicola and Mark, and father-in-law to Martin and Joanne, the fun-loving and amazing Dad-Dad to Erin and Harry and proud great Dad-Dad to baby Arabella. He will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends.
