Tragically passed away on Saturday, 24 June, 2023, following a motorcycle accident on the five-mile road during the Jersey Motorcycle and Light Car Club sprint event. He died doing what he loved most.

The good doctor passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, 17 June, 2023, after a short illness, a loving and devoted husband of 63 years to Margaret, a guiding light to his son Mark, a warm-hearted father-in-law to Carrie, and a gentle and funny Papa to Lexie, Fergus, Ollie and Jess. Passed away on Saturday, 10 June, 2023, aged 78 years, devoted husband and much-loved soulmate of Vanessa, loved son-in-law of Mavis and brothers-in-law Brian and Richard. Lionel fought his long cancer battle with great courage and will always be very sadly missed.
