DE SOUSA, Jose

It is with great sadness that the family in both Islands of Jersey and Madeira announce the peaceful passing of Jose Martinho De Sousa on Sunday, 27 February, 2022, at the Jersey Hospice, after a long battle with cancer.

His family would like to express heartfelt thanks for all the support, care and attention given to us all from the Jersey Hospice, Cancer Relief, Macmillan all the staff at the Jersey General Hospital and Southampton. We would especially like to thank all his family and friends who stood by him throughout the long fight and kept his morale and high spirits going. He was a very kind, generous and healing soul and his presence will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

The family would like to ask that no flowers be sent but instead, anyone wishing to mark his life and friendship that they give a donation to the above-named organisations in his honour.

As per Martinho’s expressed wishes, we will be having a private family send off.

Rest in peace, you have left this world, but your spirit is endless.
