On behalf of Kristian, Oliver and myself, I wish to thank everyone who sent the many cards, letters and messages of sympathy, and those who Telephoned, which has been of great comfort to us in relation to the sad death of our much-loved Peter. Heartfelt thanks to the overwhelming number of people who attended the celebration of Peter’s life, and for the donations to the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association and Jersey Guide Dogs for the Blind Association in his memory. The support that we have received and kindness shown from our wonderful friends, family and Chateau Royale neighbours at this sad time has been enormous, but very special thanks goes to Dora for supporting Kristian, Zana for supporting Oliver and dear Sandra, and Cyril for being there for me at all times. Particular thanks to the following;- Dr Andrew Woodward and his marvellous team of doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit who were so compassionate and dedicated in treating Peter during those difficult 10 days, and for looking after me, Dr Nigel Minihane who cared for Peter’s medical needs for so many years, David Lister for his help and for leading the celebration, Oliver for reciting ‘Ithaka’ so beautifully, as his Dad had asked him to do a few years ago, and for reading My Words so sincerely, Sandra for her humorous Anecdote of the visit to The Black Museum, Renee and Pam for the beautiful floral tributes, Ian MacFeeters for playing the organ and Pedro and his staff for providing the small reception at Longueville Manor. Finally, thanks to Paul Battrick, Owen and the team at Pitcher & Le Quesne for their advice and assistance and the professional manner in which they directed us in all aspects of the arrangements, and the respectful way in which they took care of Peter. A wonderful and remarkable man who we will love and miss forever.
Chris Le Jehan.
