On Sunday, 29 March, 2020, Phyllis passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness. She was aged 95 years. She was born in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and lived in the Midlands for many years before moving to Jersey with her beloved husband George Lesley Donald Bates, who predeceased her. She will be forever remembered for her immense love and kindness by her son Paul (Daimary), her granddaughter Lisa, her nieces and nephews Tricia (Les), Julia (Tony), Nigel (Josie), Angie, Peter (Lesley), Dorothy, and all the other members of her large family. Very sadly, she did not meet her grandson George, who was born two days after her passing.
A private cremation will take place.
A celebration of her life will be held when restrictions permit.
