Charismatic officer who served in the Canadian Merchant Navy during the Second World War, has died aged 94 years. In a life of mixed fortunes, he was an electrical engineer and a builder of Canadian airplanes with a passion for foreign languages, a dashing figure in Jersey society, and an eminent hotelier. For decades, Colin Robinson presented in dapper attire, an enjoyer of fine cigars, good brandy and a contributor to many animal charities. He will be remembered for his achievements and his kind demeanour.
Family and friends wishing to attend Colin’s funeral service are invited to the Crematorium Chapel, Westmount Road, St Helier on Wednesday, 3 July at noon. Family flowers only please.
