COOIL, David James
Following the sudden and tragic loss of David on Thursday, 29 November, 2018, Elizabeth and Sammy would like to express their sincere thanks to relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbours for their caring support, messages of sympathy, prayers, flowers and for being there for them at this very sad time. Thank you too, for all the generous donations to Motor Neurone Disease Association Jersey and Friends of SCBU at the Special Care Baby Unit, Jersey General Hospital. David would have been honoured to have seen the hundreds of people that so kindly attended his funeral on Tuesday, 11 December, and for those of you who travelled long distances, we are extremely grateful. We would especially like to thank the Reverend Peter Dyson of St Saviour’s Church for his professionalism, guidance and continuous dedication, to all those who helped with the celebration service for David’s life, Shane Hatherley and the team at De Gruchy’s Funeral Care, Claudio and his staff at the Royal Yacht and Floralies for their efficient handling of the arrangements. Special thanks go out to the outstanding efforts of the ambulance service, paramedics and police of Jersey, notably Tony Forder, Loren Pephanis, PC Celio Abreu, PC Glenn Cleave and Sergeant Corin Barker. Heartfelt thanks, as always, for their ongoing support, goes out to our second family at Dandara, for which we will always be grateful, to the Headmaster, staff, pupils and friends at Victoria College, to Boxin’ Business and it’s members, and to every one of David’s professional and personal friends and colleagues. David, the man with the immense, loving and generous heart. Always think of him with a smile on your face and remember you will continue to be welcomed in his home whenever you are passing. Thank you once again to everyone.
