Margaret, Catherine and family would like to thank, most sincerely, everyone who has sent, through letters and cards, their messages of sympathy and memories of Shep, which have been a great comfort to us. We would also like to thank you for braving the cold and coming to say ‘Goodbye’ to Shep in Grouville Parish Church. He would have felt as honoured as we did to discover how many friends his love of birds and animals had brought him throughout his life and would be delighted with your donations in support of his chosen charities. We are greatly indebted to Drs Cook and Harris and all those from several departments in the hospital for the excellent care and kindness given to Shep during his illness. We are also grateful to Rev Mike Lange-Smith for conducting the service with such understanding and to Rev Tracy Le C Bromley for her reading of the prayers. Finally, we wish to thank Gareth from Pitcher & Le Quesne for his valuable support and guidance which enabled us all to celebrate Shep’s life.

LE MÉE, Jean Louis Marie

03. 03. 2018. Passed away peacefully next to his loving wife and family. Finally reunited with his precious, older son Jean and his beloved son-in-law Gary, beloved husband to Gilberte, adored father to Emile, Sylviane and Jeanine, cherished and treasured Papa to James, Stephanie, Myles, Samantha, Sophie, Hayley and Ryan. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. (Mary Elizabeth Frye – 1932. )Our wonderful Papa taken from us, his light may have gone out but his love and memories will live on in our hearts forever. With all our eternal love xxxxxxxxxxxx. ‘Ce n’est qu’un Au Revoir. ‘

LE MÉE, Jean

If I could write a story, It would be the greatest told, Of a kind and loving grandfather, Who had a heart of gold. Throughout the years, he’d always been, A wonderful man you see, When I was small he took the time, To bounce me on his knee. I could write a million pages, But still be unable to say, Just how much I love and miss him, Every single day. So many times in our life, You’ve helped to get us through, I’m so glad God’s given me, A grandfather just like you. To our Papa, you are the best and we will miss you every day.
