Passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long illness in the care of Clifton Care Home on Monday, 5 March, 2018, aged 80 years, beloved wife of 50 years to Richard, much-loved Mum to Robert and his wife Sarah, adored Granny to Bobbi. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Martin, Judith and Geoffrey would like to thank all who helped in the recent death of their Mum. Every card, phone call and floral arrangement or visit was really appreciated. Special thanks to neighbours Mario and Wanda for their daily care which meant so much. To Karen’s Carers for always being there for us especially toward the end of Genny’s life, and Dr Geoffrey Hamilton who looked after both our parents so well over the years. Thanks to Sandybrook Day Care and the Saturday Club who made Genny’s last months full of friendship and fun. Jenny Pathmarajah who conducted the service with sensitivity and tact, Paul from Pitcher & Le Quesne for his calm efficiency and reassuring presence. Finally, to Clive Cooper the organist and the funeral singers for backing us up so melodiously on the day. Thanks to all.

Aged 90 years, passed away Saturday morning, 3 March, 2018, in Grand Haven, Michigan. She was born in Jersey, Channel Islands on 4 May, 1927, to Henry and Madeleine (Thomas) Le Marquand. Anna graduated from Nursing School in Jersey, and at the age of 25, joined the British Army. She served with the Queen Alexander Nursing Corps for seven years, obtaining the rank of Captain. She returned to Jersey where she was the Sister of the Infectious Disease Ward at Overdale Hospital. She moved to Spring Lake, Michigan in 1993 and managed the Cardio Rehab class at the Grand Haven YMCA and was an Outpatient Volunteer at North Ottawa Community Hospital. Anna was a humanitarian at heart. She was an avid reader and loved animals; especially birdwatching and hedgehogs. She also enjoyed tennis, horse racing, and football. She will be lovingly missed by her son, John Hunter, daughter Sarah (Ned Silverman) Hunter, three grandchildren, Zoltan, Louise and Avi and brother, Francis (Margaret) Le Marquand. A Celebration of Anna’s life will be held 10. 30 am Saturday, 10 March at Christian Haven Home (704 Pennoyer Ave. ). Memorials in memory of Anna may be directed to Heaven Can Wait Animal Haven. Anna’s cremated remains will be interred at the Jersey Crematorium in St Helier, Jersey. Funeral arrangements are being handled by The VanZantwick Chapel, 620 Washington Ave. , 616-842-6100.
