With fondest memories of a dearly loved teacher, colleague, friend and member of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception’s Jersey Community, who sadly passed away on Monday, 9 October, 2017. Her funeral will be held in the Chapel of the Mother House at St Meen on Thursday, 12 October, 2017. Sister Marie Christiane arrived in Jersey in 1946 and joined St Matthew’s Convent. She became Bursar, with Sister Augustine, at Beaulieu, when the school launched in January, 1951 and also taught religious education in the primary school. After her retirement, she worked actively in the parish of St Patrick and also with Jersey Hospice Care, and was part of the Straven community, before leaving Jersey for the Mother House at St Meen in 2013. Sister Marie Christiane was a very special part of the Beaulieu community for many years and will be sadly missed by everyone. A memorial service will be held in the coming months in her memory and more details will be made available nearer the time.
