Ann and family would like to thank all those who sent cards of condolence and attended Bill’s funeral, especially those who travelled from England and further afield. Thank you to our dear friend Reverend Bill Matthews who led the moving service, thanks also to Dr Bob Parris for his care of Bill over the years, to Angela and Frances from Family Nursing & Home Care and the nurses from Hospice Care. Also to Elizabeth, Ivo and the staff from Positive Steps who cared for Bill during his last days at home. Finally, thanks to Paul Battrick and the staff of Pitcher & Le Quesne for their sensitive handling of all arrangements.

Passed away peacefully in the loving and tender care of Jersey Hospice on the evening of Saturday, 31 December, 2016, with his darling wife Rosemary and youngest brother James at his side. An illness bravely borne – strong until the end of his 77 years. ‘To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. ‘

Relatives and friends wishing to attend the funeral service for Charles are invited to meet at St Thomas’ Catholic Church, St Helier on Tuesday, 17 January at 11 am, followed by a private committal.
