THÉRIN, Roy

Jean, Jacqueline, Karen, Alison and all the family would like to thank everyone who attended Roy’s funeral and those who sent cards and flowers and made donations in memory of Roy to Dementia Jersey. Special thanks to Andy and everyone at Pitcher & Le Quesne for their guidance and support. Grateful thanks to Reverend Geoff Houghton for the help and care he gave us. To Nick Cabot and the Trinity choir. Special thanks to all the nursing staff on Corbiere Ward for the excellent care they gave to Roy and all our family. We couldn’t have asked for better. Finally, thanks to the Trinity Arms for the lovely buffet.

FOX, Walter David (Spanky)

Passed away peacefully at the General Hospital with his three daughters by his side on Monday, 6 May, 2024, aged 90 years, beloved husband of the late Monica, loving father to Jeannette, Pauline and Fiona, grandfather to Jonathan, Louise, Victoria, Jordan and great-grandfather to Olivia.

Funeral service

Family and friends wishing to attend Spanky’s funeral service are invited to the Crematorium Chapel, Westmount Road, St Helier on Wednesday, 22 May, at 10 am.

By request, family flowers only please.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, may be sent to Dementia Jersey, Osprey House, 5 – 7 Old Street, St Helier, JE2 3RG.

Jenny, Ben and Kerri would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended Kim’s funeral, for all the messages, cards of condolence, flowers and visits. Thanks to Deacon Brendan Flaxman for leading the service and Cherie Le Maistre and the team at Pitcher & Le Quesne for their professionalism, guidance and support at this difficult time. Special thanks to Tim Cartwright for the Eulogy and for sharing all the wonderful memories. Also special thanks to Alan and his team at Les Ormes for their kind hospitality. Passed away in the wonderful care of Jersey Hospice on Monday, 6 May, 2024, aged 88 years, adored wife of the late Peter, devoted Mum of Sue and the late Peter, much-loved Nanny to Laura, Stephanie, Thomas, Charlie and Ella. Will be greatly missed by Tony and Anne.

Although you can’t be here with us, we’re really not apart,

Until our final breath we take, you’ll be living in our hearts xxxx.

HAWEL, Joan (née Bisson)

Aged 89 years, Joan passed away peacefully on Saturday, 20 April, 2024, at Lakeside Care Home. Joan joins her husband Otto who passed, aged 91 years, on the 19 April, 2020.

Joan and Otto were well known in Jersey, back in the day, for running El Tico from 1977 to 1990. Joan was famous for her cakes, pies and quiches. Otto then went on to work at airport security.

They were both big animal lovers and had wonderful lives.

At Joan’s request she has had a private cremation because she didn’t think it was fair to have anything more than Otto, who passed during the first Covid lockdown.

Both Joan and Otto are greatly missed by all their family and their many friends.

Always loved, always with us in our hearts.
