MATHEW, Glenn.

Rosie, Luc and the Mathew family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who sent cards, letters and flowers, and those who donated to Parkinson’s Jersey in Glenn’s memory. All those who attended the funeral service (we’ve never seen the Crematorium so packed!) and all those who joined us to celebrate Glenn’s life at the wake afterwards. Special thanks to Reverend Tracy Bromley for a lovely and very personal service, to organist Graham Caldbeck, and to Andy Errington-Rennell of Pitcher & Le Quesne for his comforting and sensitive support. Glenn’s wish was for a joyful celebration of his life, no tears by request. Well, thank you to everybody who made that happen, he would have been overwhelmed!

NEWMAN, Olly

For my brave son, a beloved brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend of many; gone too soon, 24 January, 2023.

The kindness of others provided warmth this first year without you, but my broken-heart still feels the cold without your warm hand to hold.

‘If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.’

Although I sense you may like a cooler quote:

‘Meet me where the sky touches the sea.’

Love you always, Mum x.

My thanks to all those helping our family with the aftermath and grief, the hugs and sharing fond stories of Olly and the support from Jersey Hospice Care’s Community Bereavement Service.

BECHELET, Margaret Bertram.

David, Diane and the family would like to thank everyone who sent messages of condolence and those who attended Mum’s funeral. Thanks to Reverend Bond for the beautiful service which captured Mum’s life and love perfectly. A special thanks to all the staff at St Joseph’s Residential Home for the love and care you gave Mum. Thanks to the pathologist and coroner for your kindness and professionalism, and sincere thanks to Ken Browne at De Gruchy’s Funeral Care for your support in arranging the funeral. Finally, thank you to all who have made donations to the British Red Cross in Mum’s memory.

GARRETT, Richard.

Sue, Donna, Louise and family thank all those who joined them for the service of Richard at the crematorium, and also for the lovely cards and words of comfort we received. Steven, your compilation of Richard’s memories was delivered with perfection. We are grateful for the support given from the family nurses and Julie Jones, and also to Clare and Trinity whose care and support enabled Richard to be at home. Thank you to Brian Vibert and Pastor Gregg Donaldson for the challenging words of wisdom. Also to Chris Lewis who so lovingly played guitar and sang the Aaronic Blessing. To team Pitcher & Le Quesne and Cherie who steered us to deliver the desired order of service.
