HERBERT, Julie Ann (née Gray)

Mum, there are no words to express the feelings I have at the moment. This is the hardest moment of my life but I know that you are still here with me guiding me through every step that I take. I couldn’t be prouder of you for the strength that you have shown these past weeks and I know that you did it all for your family. You were the best Mum anyone could wish for and can only hope that one day I can be as brilliant as you were. You were my hero and I will miss you ever day. Love you so much.

You are now free from the pain. We will all miss you so much Julie, So proud to have called you my sister. Night, night sleep tight Sis. Safe now in the arms of Dad and Grandma.

All our love, Chris, Carolyn, Samantha, Chloe and Sophie-Ann.

MERCIER, John

Jane and Darren would like to thank everyone who sent messages, cards, flowers, donations (for Injured Jockeys Fund) and attended John’s funeral. Also to the Jersey Race Club for their kind tributes. The special care from GPs Dr Howell and Dr King, Sinead from Hospice Care and the nursing staff of the Emergency Department and on Portelet Ward has been greatly appreciated. Grateful thanks to the hospital doctors, but especially Mr EL Gazzar and Mr Pai who John held in high regard and who treated him with the utmost dignity and respect and enabled him to live life to the full for many years after his initial illness. Special mention to Sister Sarah Greenwood, who helped so much in our hour of need, enabling us to bring John home speedily and to die peacefully in the loving care of his friends and family. Paul Battrick MBE of Pitcher & Le Quesne has been so supportive and also Rev Nick Freeland. Both helped and guided us to ensure that John had an appropriate service to celebrate his life. Thank you Hollie for the beautiful song. Jane would especially like to thank her special friends, Maria, Gail and Julien, Hollie, Richard, Amy and Christine who, along with neighbours Alan and Angie have been an incredible source of help and support, and finally her ‘Corbière Family’ and hospital colleagues for their care and concern – always in my heart. At such a sad time, it has been overwhelming to have such amazing support from everyone mentioned. Remembering the Good Times X.
