LE CONTE, Eric Francis

Pauline, John, Paul and family would like to thank all the relatives and friends who sent cards and messages of condolence. Our thanks also to those who attended the funeral service and for the donations made to Jersey Hospice Care and Family Nursing and Home Care in Eric’s memory. A special thank you to the Reverend Canon Geoff Houghton, Vice Dean of Jersey, for taking such good care of Eric and all of us during the funeral service, to organist Nick Cabot for playing the organ and sister-in-law Barbara for the reading. To conductor Annette Blanchet and so many members of Les Conteurs Singers for attending and singing ‘As The Deer’ so beautifully and for leading the hymns. And to Anne Hembry for the piano accompaniment. Eric would have been proud. And thanks to Terry Neale and the musical friends of Eric’s he assembled to produce a most moving male voice rendition of ‘The Long Day Closes’. And thanks to the St John Ambulance Fellowship for providing the Guard of Honour. Grateful thanks to all the many professionals over recent years, especially the staff on the medical wards at the General Hospital and the Accident and Emergency Department, the Ambulance Service, Family Nursing and Home Care, Mo Boersma and Julie, and GP Dr Paul who all looked after Eric and enabled him to stay in his own home. And thanks to Gareth John of Pitcher & Le Quesne for all his guidance and support.

CAMPBELL, Esther (Essie) Mary (née Daley)

Passed away peacefully at St Ewold’s Care Home after a short illness, on Monday, 1 June, 2015, aged 74 years, much-loved wife of the late Pat Campbell, loving mother of Alan and Fiona, adored Granny of Orla. Hold her in thine arms sweet Jesus and let her henceforth be a messenger of love between our broken hearts and thee.

Passed away peacefully in her 83rd year in the care of Clifton Care Home, on Monday, 1 June, 2015, surrounded by her family after a long illness so bravely borne, devoted and adored wife of Kevin for 61 years, treasured mother of Trevor and Karen, mother-in-law of Julie and Eamonn, grandmother of Andrew, Matthew, Adam and Sean.
