Hautlieu staff, Governors and students send our deepest sympathies and sincere condolence to the family of Alan Jones. Gerard Manley Hopkins, a poet we know Alan greatly admired, wrote of how ‘After-comers cannot guess the beauty been’, and there was indeed a very great beauty about Alan, as both a student and teacher at Hautlieu. How greatly we will miss him!

After a courageous battle with cancer, sadly passed away on Friday, 27 September, 2013, a husband, father and grandfather. You were one in a million and can now be at peace with Nan, Pop and friends. Rest in peace. You will be sorely missed by Tereena, Ziggy, Luke, Lucy, Tyler, Ashton, Jasmine and Dean.

Passed away on Tuesday, 1 October, 2013, due to a broken heart through the loss of her eldest daughter Sharon six months ago, beloved wife of Danny and devoted mother of Stephen, Jacqueline, Stuart and the late Sharon, dear grandmother of Eddie, Ciaron, Billy, Finn and Scott. 22. 4. 1938 – 27. 9. 2013. Ken passed away suddenly and peacefully at home. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kate, sons Laurie and Andrew, daughters-in-law Sam and Allie, his much-loved grandsons Ben and Jacques, mother Jane, sister Margaret, niece Jane and all his family and friends.
