VALOIS, Bryan Connan

Rosemarie and Toby would like to thank their family and friends for their continued support and everyone who Telephoned, visited, sent cards, letters and flowers expressing their sympathy for the loss of Bryan. Thank you to everyone who attended the funeral service and especially to Jurat Geoff Allo for the eulogy. A special thank you to both Paul Battrick of Pitcher & Le Quesne who dealt with all the arrangements so sensitively and compassionately and to Reverend Canon Dr Gavin Ashenden for conducting such a lovely service. Also thank you Paul, Roy and your wonderful staff at Corbière Phare for the lovely reception. Most importantly we would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff of the General Hospital. Over the last two years Bryan had spent quite some time in Beauport Ward. Thank you Chantal, Melanie, Sarah and everyone and more recently in the EAU, Corbière, HDU and ICU where his care throughout was second to none. Many thanks also to Dr Nigel Minihane for his continued care and support and also to Dr Michael Richardson and Sarah and Mr C Dunlop and Mr C Twiston-Davies. A very special thank you to Mo at Bethlehem Clinic (Family Nursing) a special friend and nurse who looked after Bryan during the last six months. Thanks also to everyone who sent donations to Jersey Hospice and Family Nursing.

HOLLEY, David Steven

David’s family would like to thank everyone who kindly sent cards and messages of sympathy and to all who attended the funeral service. Sincere gratitude to the Ambulance Service and to the States of Jersey Police whose professionalism was very much appreciated. Thank you to David’s kind neighbours and to friends and colleagues from Jersey Post, especially Ricky Le Quesne for their unstinting support at the difficult time. Special thanks to Rev Liz Singleton who led the service in such a caring and heart warming manner. Many thanks to everyone who donated to Jersey Hospice in David’s memory. Finally thank you to Andy Rennell from Pitcher & Le Quesne for his sensitive assistance during this time of deep sadness. May David rest in peace.

LE CAPPELAIN, Christine (née Le Cornu)

Trevor, Sharon, Chantelle and family would like to thank family and friends who attended Christine’s funeral at St Peter’s Parish Church, also thanks to Reverend Nick Freeland for his service plus Derek and Victor for their readings. The family and I have been overwhelmed with the support from so many people that has been given to us, plus all the sympathy cards. It has been heart warming to have. Many thanks to Family Nursing, Hospice Care and Dr Hughes. A special thanks to De Gruchy’s for their professional help with arranging the funeral, and also Ivor Barrett for his horses and carriage, the collection after the service raised £1, 113. 57 for Hospice Care, we would like to thank those who donated. Many thanks to Beau Rivage Hotel, St Brelade’s Bay for their excellent refreshments provided.

CARPENTER, Jean (née Batty)

Born in Bury, Manchester, on 8, January 1922, passed away peacefully on Sunday, 12 May, 2013, at Lakeside Care Home, aged 91 years, much-loved mother of Steve. Your duty from 1942-1945 in preparation for D-Day will always be remembered. The Doodlebugs, bombs and bullets never ever caused you to flinch in your duty. The soldiers of all ranks admired your strength and recognised the exhaustion of your continuous efforts to secure both before and after D-Day the success of the landings and subsequent hostilities which ended on 8 May.
