ROMERIL, Michael

Passed away with family close by on Saturday, 24 February, 2024, aged 82 years. Formerly Conservation Officer and Environmental Adviser to the States of Jersey. Beloved son of the late Hazel, dear brother to Barry, much missed husband of Angela, father of the late Jane, step-father to James and Jonathan and Gramps to seven.

Irreplaceable, he leaves a gap in all our lives.

There will be a memorial service in his beloved Jersey in due course

Family and friends wishing to attend the funeral service for Irene are invited to meet at St Thomas’ Catholic Church, St Helier on Wednesday, 20 March at 12.15 pm, followed by a private cremation.

MACLAGAN, Innes James

Died peacefully on Monday, 26 February, 2024, with his wife Suzie and sons Rory and Cam by his side. A kind, loving, wise and gentle man with family at his heart. He will be sorely missed.

A private cremation will take place.

DE GRUCHY, Philip (Colin)

Passed away on Sunday, 4 February, 2024, aged 93 years, reunited with his wife Pearl. Much-loved father of Gwen and Sue, father-in-law to Keith, grandfather to Simon and Claire, Matthew and Alana, Sammi and Jo, great-grandfather to Luna. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

BENEST, John Ernest Alexander

Passed away peacefully in South Africa on Monday, 26 February, 2024, with his loving family by his side, aged 75 years. Dearly loved son of Hedley and Kay, loving husband of Alana, devoted father and father-in law-to Martine, Jenna, Dylan and Werner and adored Grandpa to Luke, Zoe and Riley. Dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all his family in Jersey.

The family would like to thank everyone who joined them to celebrate Bernard’s life and those who sent cards and messages of condolence. Special thanks to Canon Dominic Golding for conducting a beautiful service. Diane, James and Richard and their families would like to thank everyone who attended the crematorium service to celebrate Willy’s life. They give grateful thanks to all who sent cards and letters with such lovely comments and memories of him. Thanks too for the donations to Jersey Hospice Care, who cared for him so wonderfully. He was a very special man.

SHEPPARD, Dorothy Mary (née Stainer)

Dot passed away on Wednesday, 21 February, 2024, aged 94 years, in the loving care of St Ewolds, much-loved Mum of Sue and Christine, mother-in-law to Peter, Granny to Julie and husband Stuart, and great-granny to Jack and Amy. She will be very much missed.

LAJOIE, Rosemary Anne (née Cotillard)

Passed away in the care of the General Hospital on Saturday, 24 February, 2024, aged 67 years, beloved wife of Keith and adored Mum to Edward and Gemma, sister to Michael and sister-in-law to Karen. Rosemary will be missed by all her family and friends.

Rosemary’s funeral service will take place on Thursday, 21 March at 1 pm in the Crematorium Chapel, Westmount Road.
