One year ago today you passed and we said our final goodbyes.

I miss you! You were not just my husband but my best friend, my lover, my soulmate and my rock. My life will never be the same without you.

Rest in peace, now free from pain.

Thank you for all the lovely memories my darling, I might not have been your first love, first kiss, or first date but I just wanted to be your last everything.

If I were to live my life again, I’d find you sooner and love you longer.

BLAMPIED, Maria Vanda Ferreira

Passed away on Wednesday, 20 September, 2023, aged 86 years, reunited with her late husband Derek, her parents and sisters. An adored sister, auntie and Tita Vanda, she will be missed by all her family and friends here in Jersey, Madeira and over the world.

Our grateful thanks to the staff at Sandybrook for their care towards Vanda during her final illness.

Funeral Service

Vanda’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 25 October at noon in St Thomas’ Catholic Church followed by a private cremation.

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 27 September, 2023, at Les Charrières Care Home, aged 101 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Margaret, loving father of Clive, father-in-law to Stephanie, brother of Mavis and Margaret, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, 27 September, 2023, with his beloved wife Chontal by his side, devoted father to Joanne, Tracey, Karl and Terry, proud grandfather to six. Jimmy and his sense of humour, which he retained even after so much, will be deeply missed.

MENZIES, Hamish McGregor (Greg)

Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, 30 September, 2023, with his family by his side. A caring, supportive and wise husband to Rena, a calm, understanding Dad who guided Kate, Gregor and Robert though life, a well respected father-in-law to Dom, Emma and Farah, and an adored Grandad to Jaimie, Leila, Zane, Indy, Kiara, Murray, Alena and Finlay. ‘Wee brother’ to his four older sisters Margo, Ann, May and the late Christabel, a fondly remembered brother-in-law, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Greg was so loved. He was a quiet, unassuming man who never sought the limelight and just got on with whatever needed doing. He will be so missed by family, friends and many business associates.

All who wish to attend a celebration of Greg’s life are invited to St Columba’s Church, Midvale Road on Thursday, 19 October at 10.45 am.

Greg was an old fashioned sort of guy but also very tolerant, so please dress as you wish.
