– The family would like to pass on their sincere thanks to all who have sent letters and cards, and for all the online messages and wonderful tributes paid to Len during these past few weeks. We have taken great comfort from reading them all. It is important for us to thank the incredible staff at Beauport Ward who looked after Len with so much compassion during his last few weeks. Special thanks must go to Hattie, Luke and Lauren who were always so attentive and respectful, and to Mr Jon Shenfine who wanted to give Len the best chance possible, and to the wonderful team in oncology. Thank you too, to Canon David Shaw and Reverend Tracy Bromley for conducting a wonderful service and for all the support and care they have given to the family during this time. We are grateful to Julian De La Cour and the team at Maillards who organised the funeral, and the Honorary Police of St Clement and Grouville who stood out in the pouring rain to make sure the roads were clear. Finally, we thank everybody who sent donations to the Jersey Friends of Anthony Nolan in Len’s memory, we are most grateful to you all.
