– Irene’s family would like to thank everyone who attended her funeral and those that would have liked to have paid their final respects but were unable to do so. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent cards, telephoned or sent other messages of support and love and for the charitable donations made in her memory. Thanks to Iris, Kath and all her other friends at Avalon Park where she had many happy times, family and friends who visited her and asked after her, Dr. David Jackson for his years of care, Suzie her physiotherapist, Bernadine her hairdresser, Somarah her chiropodist, Laurinda who kept her flat beautifully clean, and the teams at Jersey Hospital, Overdale, Silver Springs Nursing Home, The Stroke Association, Occupational Therapy Service, Speech & Language Therapy, Family Nursing and Home Care and the Long-Term Care Service, all of whom contributed to Irene’s mental and physical wellbeing after her stroke. Special thanks to Christies Care and their wonderful live-in carers and, in particular, Gina who was with her throughout lockdown and Marina who was with her during her final days at home. Thanks also to the staff at Le Petit Bosquet who nursed Irene during her last few days and were there to comfort her when Irene chose to leave us.
