LE GOUPIL, Albert Louis (Bert)

Dad,

Not a day passes by Dad, that you don’t cross my mind,

Not all of you departed when you left our earth behind.

In my heart there is a place that only you can hold,

Filled with loving memories more priceless than gold.

I know you still hear me Dad, so please know this is true,

That everything I am today is all because of you.

Love from your daughter Anne, son-in-law Jack, grandchildren Sarah and Adi, Lucy and Nick, Mark and Melody, and great-grandchildren Lacey, Tilly and Montgomery.

LE GOUPIL, Albert Louis (Bert)

Remember me when I am gone away,

Gone far away into the silent land;

When you can no more hold me by the hand,

Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.

Remember me when no more day by day,

You tell me of our future that you planned:

Only remember me; you understand,

It will be late to counsel then or pray.

Yet if you should forget me for a while,

And afterwards remember, do not grieve:

For if the darkness and corruption leave,

A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,

Better by far you should forget and smile,

Than that you should remember and be sad.

Dad, gone but never forgotten.

From your loving son Colin.
