Died peacefully in the tender care of the Little Sisters of the Poor on Saturday, 8 September, 2018, aged 93 years, widow of Basil Backhurst and John Griffin, dearly loved mother of Michael, mother-in-law of Marie-Louise, grandmother of Anna and Andrew, great-grandmother of George, Charlie, Sam, Theo and Magnus.

Passed away peacefully at home with her family beside her on Thursday, 6 September, 2018, aged 82 years, reunited again with Roland, her recently departed childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 62 years, mother to Dominique, Marguerite and Gaby, Nana to Otis, Miles, Frances, Catherine, Thomas and Millie, great-grandmother to Natalia. Gillian’s generosity, humour and love of life brought a smile to the faces of all those who were lucky enough to know her. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
