COLEMAN, Capt Johnathan David Alan (FRAES) (John)

Died abroad suddenly on Friday, 13 September, 2024, aged 78, with his wife by his side.

John had a full, active, and international life. He retired after 35 years from British Airways and Cargolux as a senior 747 400 training Captain, also serving for several years as a magistrate in the UK.

A beloved husband for 57 years to Wyn, dearly loved brother of Tessa, devoted father of Charles and Victoria, and much-loved mentor and grandfather to JJ, Joseph and David. He will be desperately missed by his family and his many friends around the world.

RIP darling, there is a huge hole in our hearts.

Commemorations of his life will be held both in Jersey and in Cyprus.

LEA, Joanna Margaret

Our lovely Jo died peacefully at Jersey Hospice on Thursday, 5 September, 2024, after many years of living with cancer, adored Mum of Amy, beloved daughter of Joan, much-loved sister of Penny, Chris, Cathy, Annabelle, Caroline and the late Ginny and sister-in-law of Charlie and Patrick, dear mother-in-law of James and darling Granny of Leo and Sonny, also a very special aunt to Joe, Tom, Eve and Natalie and to her great nieces and nephew. She will be so missed by us all.

Many thanks to the amazing staff at Jersey Hospice for all their care and support.

Funeral Service

A celebration of Jo’s life will be held at the Crematorium at 11.30 am on Wednesday, 2 October.

Passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, adored husband of Angela. Colin will be deeply missed and remembered by so many with love and affection.

WILLIAMS, Kenneth Alfred

Passed away in Florida, USA. Son of the late Bette and Gwyn, brother to Robert, Wendy, Brian and Lynda, brother-in-law of June and Phil, uncle to Sam, Beth and Elliott, also his adopted family in the USA.

JOURNEAUX, Phyllis (née Merhet)

Maria and her family would like to thank everyone who sent cards and messages of condolence after her mother’s passing. The Requiem Mass was celebrated by Phyllis’ grandson, Father Daniel Etienne at Our Lady of the Annuciation and Japanese Martyrs with the reading by Oliver and the intercessions by Philippa and Benjamin. Sincere thanks to the organist Aurelie Norman, especially the moving rendition of Panis Angelicus. Maria would also like to thank all the staff at Jersey General Hospital after Mum’s admission both in A & E, AAU and on Plemont Ward. A huge debt of gratitude goes to the amazing team at St Joseph’s Residential Home, where Mum had lived for many years, who worked with great care and compassion to ensure Mum was comfortable until the end of her life. Thanks are also due to Dr Cochrane who has offered her advice and support over the years, taking care of Mum. Finally, Maria would like to offer her appreciation to Pitcher & le Quesne, in particular to Neil Dingle for the discreet and professional handling of Mum’s funeral.

ALLAIRE, Janet Elizabeth (née Le Blancq)

Passed away after a short illness on Thursday, 19 September, 2024, in her 88th year, much-loved wife to the late Bert, mother to Susan, Jayne, Lee and Steven, mother-in-law to Phillip, Kate and Louise and grandmother to Kieran, Mady, Ava and the late Micah. She will be sadly missed.
