BRADBURY, Peter

In loving memory of a dearly-loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who passed away on 29 February, 2012. You never said I’m leaving, You never said goodbye, You were gone before we knew it, And no one quite knows why. A million times we’ve needed you, A million times we’ve cried, If love alone could have saved you, You would never have died.

Your loving wife Pauline and family XX.

MAKOVI, Betty Mavis (Kim) (née Mariette)

Betty Darby and Tracey would like to thank everyone who attended Kim’s service of cremation and for all the wonderful cards of love and support sent to us from our many friends. To those who sent donations to Jersey Hospice, Clarkson House, our grateful thanks, the staff are wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, I will never forget the care shown to Kim, they all deserve medals. I would like to thank Anna Minihane for all her help and advice and Dr French who attended to Kim and to Le Geyt Centre for all their help with Tracey during this difficult time. My thanks to my friend Pat Redmond who was my constant support and Gill and Judy who made sure everyone had food to eat at our home after the service. To Lynsey Mallinson at Maillard’s, Funeral Directors, I would like to express my sincere thanks, she made the service so wonderful, the music that Kim loved so much did much to help comfort us all, this was portrayed by the chosen poems read so beautifully and with much feeling by Lynsey. A really big thank you to all who made this sad day so memorable.

HAWKSWORTH, Brian Franklin

Passed away at Jersey’s General Hospital, on Monday, 22 February 2016, aged 76 years. Finally free of his wheelchair, cares and illnesses that plagued his last years. I know that I shall meet my fate, Somewhere among the clouds above; Those that I fight I do not hate, Those that I guard I do not love;My country is Kiltartan Cross, My countrymen Kiltartan’s poor, No likely end could bring them loss, Or leave them happier than before. Nor law, nor duty bade me fight, Nor public men, nor cheering crowds, A lonely impulse of delight, Drove to this tumult in the clouds;I balanced all, brought all to mind, The years to come seemed waste of breath, A waste of breath the years behindIn balance with this life, this death.

Family and friends wishing to attend Brian’s funeral are invited to the Crematorium Chapel, Westmount Road, St Helier, on Thursday, 3 March at 10. 45 am. By request, family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, may be made in Brian’s memory to Jersey Rescue Dogs, Glen Rest, Route de St Aubin, St Helier, JE2 3LL.
