23 April, 1940 – 22 March, 2015Dear Dad, I didn’t realise the pain one feels when a loved one goes away, I think of you each waking hour of each brand new day. What brings me comfort Dad is knowing you’re up there with the best, whisky in hand, smiling down on us, and having a well deserved rest.

PITMAN, Anne Lucilla

Michael, Melinda and Jeremy would like to thank all of our wonderful friends and relatives who so kindly sympathised with us in the loss of our precious Mum. The profusion of cards and messages was simply overwhelming and so greatly appreciated. Our particular gratitude is owed to Gary Tye from De Gruchy’s who gently and compassionately led us through this trying time, and to the lovely Rev Debbie Godefroy who ensured that the service was one which we know Mum herself would certainly have appreciated. Those who attended the funeral and sang the hymns with such gusto deserve special mention for helping make it such an uplifting occasion whilst Jackie Le Cornu’s amazingly beautiful and appropriate spring flower display was exactly what Mum herself would have chosen. Sadly, Mum was denied an active old age by the devastating cruelty of dementia and our very special thanks go to the angels at Les Houmets, The Limes and Silver Springs whose loving care of Mum gave her the best possible quality of life right to the end. We will forever be grateful to you all. Finally, much love and special thanks to Linda and the two Simons who will probably never know how invaluable their presence and support have been in the past couple of weeks. God bless you all.
