CARR, Mavis Blanche (May) (née Thébault)

It’s only when one loses a precious loved one so suddenly that you realise how much love and support there is around you, and Basil and Kim would like to thank all those relatives and friends for their support and sympathy at this sad time (and we wish to apologise in advance if we have omitted anyone from our thanks). Firstly May’s young sister Annette and her husband John who were constantly at our side and at our beck and call throughout our ordeal. Doctor Matthew Scaife from the Cleveland Clinic for his help and guidance. The Ambulance crew, consultants doctors, nurses and all of the staff at the Jersey General Hospital, the Air Ambulance crew who were flown in to transport May to Southampton, words cannot express how considerate they were as they helped May during a very distressing time that was unfolding before our eyes. Thank you for those who sent cards and letters (over 180 received) and all those who attended May’s funeral. Emma Mackay and Zoe Gallichan for leading the cortege with the two ponies (it would have made May so proud with her love of horses and ponies) and their many colleagues from the Jersey Horse Driving Society who contributed in so many ways. Reverend Ian Pallent for his help and guidance and conducting a beautiful service. All her colleagues from the hospice shop who formed a guard of honour to receive her as she was taken into the church, Jayne Smith from the hospice shop with her kind words as she remembered May as a friend and work colleague. Our very good family friend Wally Garrett for portraying May as he knew her for over 60 years of friendship, it couldn’t have been done any better.

DAVIES, Joy

Bill and David would like to thank their many friends for the kind messages, cards of condolence and for attending the committal. We know Joy would have been gratified by so many kind thoughts. Thanks also to Reverend Debbie Godefroy for conducting the service in such a beautiful and sensitive way. Grateful thanks to Paul and his colleagues at Pitcher & Le Quesne, for the sympathetic manner in which they helped us through this difficult time.
