VINCENT, David George

Beloved husband of 60 years to Brenda Ann (née Wilmot), sadly passed away at the General Hospital on Friday, 11 December, 2020.

I am heartbroken that I was unable to visit Dave for 12 days to even comfort him, nor be in his presence when he passed, how cruel.

I pray with all my heart that he rests in eternal peace after so many years of ill health.

My darling Dave, I am just a whisper away.

BIM.

PONTING, Maureen Agnes.

The family of the late Maureen would like to thank all those who were able to attend the celebration of Maureen’s life, also those who telephoned or sent cards, flowers, messages of condolence, or donations to the Grace Trust. We would also like to express our gratitude to Judy Smith and Pat Girard for the personal memories and contributions to the service that brought Mum straight back to us, and the haunting melodies performed by Andrew Ponting on his violin. Sincere thanks also go to the Family Nursing service, Dr Marson-Smith and Dr Picot from Indigo House Surgery, David Lister, Celebrant, and Shane Hatherley from De Gruchy’s Funeral Care who helped to guide us through a difficult process step by step. We would also like to make special mention of the amazing carers and indeed all the staff at St Ewolds Care Home where Mum spent the final two and a half years of her life. We cannot thank you enough for your care and consideration. You not only treated Mum with love and kindness but with dignity and respect in her final days. She had nothing but praise for all of you and had a wonderful relationship with many of you whom she regarded as personal friends. You made the particularly difficult period during the covid lockdown so much easier for her to bear and in addition, showed us her family, such empathy and compassion in her final weeks. We hope you realize how invaluable you are and what a difference you make to people’s lives by doing what you do. We will never forget you and yes you are angels, each and every one of you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

HERNANDEZ, Jeronimo

Passed away suddenly on Saturday, 28 November, 2020, beloved wife of Joan, dearly loved Dad to Neil and Tina.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,

We would walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye,

You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why.

Our hearts still ache in sadness, and secret tears still flow,

What it means to lose you, no one will ever know.

REID, Cynthia Kathleen (née Bibb)

In loving memory of Cynthia, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, great-

grandmother and friend. Cynthia was a fighter and never gave up, even in trying times. She was fiercely stubborn (like most of the family!) with what she believed in. Cynthia was loving, supportive, kind and caring and did everything she could to help others despite her own personal difficulties.

We would like to thank the nursing staff at Pinewood and Lakeside for all her care and the staff at the hospital for making her comfortable.

She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 8 December, 2020, on Rozel Ward in the Jersey General Hospital. She is loved and missed by all her family and friends.

1 July, 1932 to 8 December, 2020.

Donations in Cynthia’s memory, may be made to Cancer Research UK – Jersey Committee, Mrs Jo Guillou, L’Attrape Soleil, 2 Cranworth Court, Vallée des Vaux, St Helier, JE2 3GA or British Heart Foundation (Jersey), Mrs Mandi Corley, 14 Brooklyn Court, Ann Street, St Helier, JE2 4SE.

PONTING, Maureen Agnes (Formerly Le Feuvre) (née Smith)

My dearest Mum passed away on Wednesday, 25 November, 2020, in her 89th year, mother-in-law (long suffering) of the lovely Bernie (pendant la guerre!) and a loving, understanding grandmother to Lay and Megan and Camilla and Danny, a cherished great-Grandma to Joseph and Gangee to Elwood and Ruby.

‘If I should go tomorrow, it would never be goodbye,

For I have left my heart with you, so don’t you ever cry.

The love that’s deep within me, shall reach you from the stars,

You’ll feel it from the heavens and it will heal the scars’.

We will all miss you so much Mum.

Your loving daughter Sassy.

PONTING, Maureen Agnes (Formerly Le Feuvre) (née Smith)

Our darling Mum sadly passed away, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, 25 November, 2020, in her 89th year, a loving and beloved wife of the late Denis Ponting. She was also a loving Mum to Stephen, Maureen, Andrew, Aidan, Clare and the late Michael and a caring and supportive step-mother to Michael, Mark and Jeanine. She will be hugely missed by all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and indeed by all of her family and her numerous friends.

A life well lived, through the hardships of the occupation, the joy of having children, a loving and fulfilled relationship with Denis, the excitement of travel, a keen interest in the world and people in general, and a sharp and intelligent mind until the end.

We will always love you Mum and be grateful to you for the happy memories that we share.
