31.12.1930 – 01.01.2021
He made his 90th birthday.
Many in St Helier knew his face or knew him personally. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. He was loved by so many, a true gentleman an ex-serviceman and the font of all knowledge.
He passed away peacefully following a short illness at Clifton Nursing Home.
Thank you to the staff there who cared for him like he was their own family, you can’t ask for more than that.
Terry worked hard over the years at the airport, as a hairdresser, owning guest houses, a coffee shop at Gorey, and a property developer to name just a few.
Due to the current situation, there will be no gathering to share stories of Terry (hopefully later in the year), but here are of few lines that he would share with all of us.
I paddle my own canoe.
‘Don’t argue with me unless you know the facts.’
I am not emotional I am a rational person.
It takes a thousand years to breed a good horse.
Never say the words forget, in the RAF lives depend on you not forgetting.
And in summary, he referred to himself as a shy introvert. That statement is the one to make us all smile!
God bless him as he sails off in his canoe.
