BISSON, Hilda

Graham, Richard and their families would like to thank those who were able to attend their mother’s funeral service, to everyone who sent us cards and to those who have sent donations to either of Hilda’s choice of charities. We are grateful to Rev Mark Barrett for his uplifting words and support and to Mr Neville Brooks for the prayers. Thank you to the organist Mr Ian MacFeeters, to the Funeral Choir, to Mr Simon Harper and his staff for the catering and to Mr Stephen Lamb, Centre Manager at St Andrew’s Church. A special thank you and appreciation to Dr Simon Bonn for his exceptional care of our mother over many, many years. BALL-SMITH, Maureen Olive (née Webb)

Ron, Gillian, Catherine, Renton, Deborah and the large number of Maureen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren from the mainland as well as Ron’s children and relatives who attended Maureen’s funeral at St Martin’s Catholic Church on Thursday, 24 May, were evidence of the love she inspired in all. Present too, were numerous friends and worshippers, many with fond memories of pilgrimages to Lourdes which Maureen helped to organise for many years. All appreciated the moving service led by Father Benjamin Theobald assisted by Deacon Tony Ward. Warmest thanks to all who sent cards and in many cases donated to the Little Sisters, whose warmth and care Maureen appreciated for many years even before, sadly, she was admitted in 2015. Much appreciated too was the care and patience of all the staff as well as the regular visits of her doctor. Maureen’s love of singing was not forgotten as evidenced by the beautiful support given to the congregation by the voluntary ladies and gentlemen choir. All ran smoothly thanks to the efficiency of De Gruchy’s Funeral Care.

Suzanne and all the family would like to thank everyone who expressed their condolences following the sad loss of Anita. To those who called, sent cards, flowers, gave donations to Jersey Hospice Care and Jersey Cancer Relief in Anita’s memory and attended the funeral service to celebrate Anita’s life. Thank you to Canon David Shaw for officiating at the funeral service, thank you to the Verger Frank Woods, to Alan Mollet organist, Hugh Lince accompanist, for Simone Garton and Caroline de Gruchy who sang so beautifully, and for all who contributed to the funeral service. Thank you to the St Mary’s Honorary Police for the traffic management on the day of the funeral. We would like to sincerely thank Dr Nigel Minihane and the team at Castle Quay Medical Practice, Amanda Jones and staff at Jersey Oncology Department for their continued care and support to Anita and the family, and for giving her hope. To all agencies in Jersey and UK who were involved in Anita’s care, thank you. To the dedicated team at Jersey Hospice Care at both the day patient, and finally in patient unit where Anita’s end of life care was treated with dignity, respect, compassion and professionalism. ELLIOTT, Michael John

Passed away peacefully and painlessly on Tuesday, 15 May, 2018, aged 88 years, he was the supportive father of Sophia Evans and the late Ralph Elliott, fun-loving Grandpa of Eliot and Eden and uncle to the beloved Simon, Susie and Katie. Michael was the great friend of Valery Johnson (former wife) and Douglas Johnson, he was the ever-entertaining father-in-law of Tony Evans and also the brother and brother-in-law of the late, much missed, Jane Edwards and Peter Edwards. Michael/Dad will eternally be singing and dancing in all our hearts!
