It broke my heart to see you suffer, my only consolation is you are now at peace. I held your hand to the end, but having to leave you after you had gone was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. You were the kindest, sweetest, thoughtful, most caring and lovely person I have had the privilege to meet. I am so lucky that you were my Mum, I just wish that we could have had more time together. John and family wish to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all relatives, friends and Dad’s former colleagues who attended his funeral. Thank you to the Reverend Tony Keogh for conducting the funeral service and for making it so personal, and for his kind words of comfort. Thank you to Dad’s surgeon, Mr Rittoo, and to all the medical and nursing staff in ITU/HDU and Ward 14 at Royal Bournemouth Hospital for their care and kindness during his three weeks with them. Thank you to all who have sent cards and messages of sympathy and to those who have made donations in Dad’s memory to Holidays for Heroes. Thank you to the Manager and staff at the Five Oaks Eating House for providing refreshments after the funeral. Also a big thank you to Dad’s neighbours, Sheila and Tony, for all their help.
