Valma would like to give special thanks to Madeline and Bob for their love and support, also to Christine Dunn for all the assistance and amazing kindness given to Mary and her over the years and through this very sad and difficult time. Maureen, together with David’s family, would like to thank everyone who attended David’s funeral, we were overwhelmed by the respect and love shown to David and found great comfort within it. The nursing staff at our General Hospital have been magnificent throughout David’s two-year illness and through many departments, but our special thanks must go to Doctor Amanda Jones and Sister Anne and the Oncology team for the kindness and care all administered with love and humour, David loved them all. David, as acting procureur of St Ouen’s, was very close to parish staff and community, thank you all for the affection and respect you showed him throughout the years he worked within the parish, and a million thank yous to Ken Vibert for the lovely tribute and to Michael Paddock for taking care of me on the saddest day of my life. To Neville and Pat Briggs and all staff at Bell Pumps, where David worked for nearly twenty years and was so happy, thank you and another thank you for being so kind to me when at my lowest. Thank you Reverend Pallent for such a beautiful service and bringing comfort and understanding on such a sad day, to our neighbours and friends who acted as pall-bearers what can I say – he looked heavy – thank you, he would have picked every one of you. Thank you Maillard’s, from special friend Tommy A’Court, to the funeral staff who did so much so efficiently, especially Sarah. Thank you to David’s favourite watering hole the Prince of Wales for administering tea, sympathy and something a bit stronger. Finally my everlasting thanks to those special friends (they know who they are) who have been with me all the way and so helped me through the darkest days. My love and thanks to you all. Could David please come home now.
