Passed away peacefully on Thursday, 14 October, 2021, in the care of Jersey Hospice with his family by his side, loving father of Jilly Ann, cherished Papa of Sol and Lola, father-in-law of Ian, and special person to Audrey and Luke.

He saw you were getting tired, a cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around you and whispered ‘Come to me’.

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer, and saw you fade away,

Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes ‘the best’.

A special thank you to Dr Henry Juchniewiez for his care and friendship of Mum over the years, and to Dr Jilesh Chohan and all the staff at Cleveland Clinic. Special thank you to nurses Jackie Townsend and Claire Bennett, to doctors Sudheer Alapati and Jon Bevan and to the domestic staff on Bartlett Ward for the compassion shown whilst caring for Mum in hospital. Our thanks to Rev Debbie Poole who conducted a wonderful service to celebrate Mum’s life, organist Alan Mollet and St Ouen’s Ladies Choir for singing the hymns with such enthusiasm. Thanks also to Shane Hatherley from De Gruchy’s Funeral Care for his kindness and professional help with the funeral arrangements. Finally, thank you to Ivor Barette for taking Mum to her final resting place in such style.
